Optical module is a key component of optical communication devices, development of which contributes to continuous growth of optical module market. In 2016, sales revenue of global optical module market was about USD five billion, rising by nearly 11% compared to the revenue of 2015. Optical module enterprises, whose comprehensive strength has been increased significantly, have more and more influence on the global market. In 2016, sales revenue of Chinese optical module market was nearly USD two billion.

Great development space in China’s PCB market has attracted a large number of international enterprises to invest in the country and build local manufacturing bases. At present, in China, there exist 1,500 PCB enterprises, including ones from Taiwan, Hongkong, US and Japan. Among all the enterprises, foreign enterprises are of large scale and high-level producing technology, as well as product speciality. There is a certain difference on scale and technology between foreign enterprises and domestic enterprise which account for a greater number. In 2016, output value of PCB in China was about USD27 billion, rising by around 2.6% and output value of optical module PCB was over USD18 billion. In China, the major PCB manufacturers include Zhen Ding Technology Holding Limited, TTM Technologies Asia Pacific Region, Mektec Manufacturing Corporation (Zhuhai) Ltd., etc..

Under the circumstance that global electronic information industry grows at full speed, the electronic information industry in China will continue its rapid development as well. Besides, emerging fields, like Big Data, Cloud Computing, Internet of Things and so on, create new demand for China’s electronic information industry, contributing to further development of optical module PCB.
