Chinese Drone companies are spread all over the country, with companies in Southeast China currently experiencing the most rapid developments. Shenzhen and by extension the Pearl River Delta and Guangdong Province have become the key areas for drone company development.

Shenzhen has for long been considered thecenter of drone manufacturing in China. The aerospace industry development plans released in 2013 placed special emphasis Shenzhen’s identity as a future base for drone development. Since then, the city has formed a complete drone industry supply chain, with consumer drone R&D and production companies ranking amongst the top drone companies across the globe. The 360 drone companies in Shenzhen took up to 70% of the global drone market and 60% of the industrial-grade drone market at the end of 2018, with transactions passing the CNY 40 billion mark.

DJI is the leading company for drone inShenzhen and the world. DJI alone represents 70% of the global consumer dronemarket. DJI sales revenues amounted to CNY 820 million in 2013, a figure that has grown to a total of CNY 17.6 billion by the end of 2017.
